Seated Woman with Green Stockings depicts a short-haired woman awkwardly turning her head away from the artist with extremity. Painted in white petticoats, green stockings, and high-heeled boots, the woman sits cross-legged as she strains her neck to the side. Her pale, bare collarbones have almost the same shade as her petticoats, accuentating the greenness of the lower half of her body through stark contrast.
