About
Munch portrays four of the neighborhood young girls in front of the yellow wall of his house. A theme which Munch revisited again and again was the mental health of children. We see Munch explore this in Four Girls in Åsgårdstrand, depicting each of the four girls’ faces with an innocent melancholy, a child-like grumpiness inflicted with trust, as they all stand parallel to each other.
