About
This lithograph is part of a series of prints Munch created following his original oil painting titled, ”Angstgefuhl’ – Anxiety. The lithograph renders a crowd of gaunt, sickly faces in black ink, with a similar style to that of The Scream’s. Their faces contort with anguish and heartbreak. The sky is printed with red ink, leaving the empty, subtractive space in white amongst the black and red lines. Many experts feel that Anxiety is closely and purposefully linked with The Scream.
