About
Manet uses fluid lines of hatches to create three separate cats, each captured in its own little moment. Two of the cats are grooming themselves while the upper right one appears to be investigating beneath a chair or stool. This etching captures a day in the life of cat, peaceful and inquisitive. Manet’s control of his tools result is smooth hatches making up the fur of the cats appear silky and soft.
