About
The medium of the artwork is a white-line woodblock print, which Edith Laker Wilkinson helped pioneer along with a group of artists known as the Provincetown Printers. This woodblock print depicts a small vegetable garden in Provincetown. The abstract style of the print strips visual elements down to its basic form, but at the same time, it prompts the viewer’s imagination of the multitude of colors and structures of the scene. The forms of the artwork are further enhanced by the use of white lines to highlight the individual forms in the print which clearly show the vegetable garden in the front amidst Provincetown in the background.
