About
Ludovic Halevy, was a French playwright and author, shown here here attending the theatre alongside Albert Cave. The two men are formally dressed in the trappings of the bourgeois man: top hats, canes, and tailored coats. They appear to be tucked around the corner of a wall, having a conversation before going in to the opera. Broad strokes of pastel make up the background and wall in the foreground, while a more delicate application make up the men themselves.
