About
A dancer in a voluminous tutu is seated, reaching towards her shoe. A second dancer can be seen in the upper right corner, costumed similarly to the first, also leaning down. This work features bold strokes of pastels, creating a strong vertical composition, out of which the dancers seem to be carved. The vibrant tutu fanning out around the focal dancer contrasts the verticals of rest of the piece. The dresses are a mix of vibrant reds and greens, contrasting shades that jump out towards the viewer, combining with the directionality of the pastels to make for an eye catching costume.
