About
This work shows David Johnson’s strong understanding of perspective, value, and composition. The brushwork is delicate, and the placement of foreground elements, as well as the rendering of the entire piece, is breathtaking. There is so much detail that one could get lost in the craftsmanship of it. This painting aligns with the goals of the Hudson River School painters, which was to recreate nature in its purest form.
