About
Berthe Morisot represents herself in warm yellows looking out to the viewer from a side view. She roughly textures the painting with heavy and thick brush marks in scattering directions. She paints herself on a light background with echos of blues, reds, and greens. These colors can be found in brighter hues on her yellow dress, which depicts flowers on her breast and a deep midnight blue handkerchief around her neck, tucked into her dress. Her hair reflects lighting from the top right corner, off the frame, as her head reflects as a light hue of gray, and her left falls into the darker shadows of a gray tone.
