About
The artist’s daughter, Julie, and the daughter of Morisot’s concierge, Marthe Givaudan, pose together playing with a blue and white Chinese porcelain basin. Morisot captures the joy in children innocently playing by the soft colors, but rapid brushstrokes. The free movement of the brush encapsulates the motion of the scene as the two girls interact with the environment; the atmosphere and light are in constant play.
