About
In his composition Seven Crows, Colville employs his surgical realism in a dynamic portrait of seven flying crows. Colville’s interest in nature and animals was in large part a somewhat philosophical one – nature itself being of great interest to his furthering of existentialism. Colville was greatly concerned with many questions of human existence, and it’s possible that animals become the central foil for our understanding of ourselves within his work.
