Suzy Frelinghuysen

May 7, 1911 - March 19, 1988


Suzy Frelinghuysen was an American artist active in New York from the 1930s until the 50s when she began an opera career as Suzy Morris. Her early works were executed in a realist style, but after being exposed to and inspired by European Modern artists such as Picasso and Léger she developed her style as an abstract Cubist painter. A member of the American Abstract Artists group, she exhibited with them for many years.
