Sophie Taeuber-Arp was a Swiss-French artist trained as a painter, sculptor, textile and interior designer, dancer, and architect. She prioritized abstract and geometric expression throughout her works of art, attempting to convey and study the power of color and form. She married fellow artist, Jean Arp, in 1922 and the duo became immersed in various movements and circles across Europe, such as the dada movement.
