Martha Levy

Martha Levy was an artist who joined the Public Works of Art Project, one of the New Deal programs led by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. The project’s purpose was to capture “the American scene” in the works of art commissioned, highlighting and in some cases embellishing the American landscape and built environment. Many of Levy’s paintings focus on rural landscapes and small towns.
