After crossing the Iron Curtain in the 1950s to live in Paris, Judit Reigl’s early works included paintings and photo collages that followed the Surrealist style. As her career developed, she moved away from figurative compositions and increasingly favored gestural abstraction. The unconventional materials she began to incorporate on the canvas helped her to convey the physicality of the artistic process. Reigl’s work has been shown in many solo exhibitions across France as well as group shows internationally.
