Born in Howard, Pennsylvania, Frances Tipton Hunter is best known for her illustrations on the cover of The Saturday Evening Post. Her work also appeared on advertisements, puzzles, and calendars. Hunter\’s illustrations most commonly feature children and pets, reflecting popular subjects of the time. Her work made her one of the most famous female illustrators of the 20th century.
