""
Ethel Carrick Fox was an English-born painter who traveled around the world throughout her art career, spending time in both France and Australia. She painted in the impressionist and post-impressionist style and eventually associated with the Australian Heidelberg school.
Carrick is best known for her floral paintings and scenes that depict outdoor life both in natural and urban settings. Many of her early works follow the practice of impressionist plein air painting, but her later works develop a more vivid color palette and different compositions.
