Ed Mell
""
Ed Mell‘s work is inspired by the landscapes of the American West. He was born in 1942 in Phoenix, Arizona when it was still a small town. Mell studied at ArtCenter College of Design, then located in Los Angeles, California, and soon after graduating he was hired as art director for a big advertising firm in New York City.
In 1970 he changed careers to teach on a Hopi reservation in Arizona. The ever-changing landscape of Colorado Plateau provided inspiration for his painting, and he moved back to Phoenix to continue his artistic journey. Mell is a painter and a sculptor, and produces limited edition lithographs.
