Dora Maar

November 22, 1907 - July 16, 1997


Dora Maar was a French photographer, painter, and poet active during the surrealist movement in the 1930s. While she is widely known as a muse to Pablo Picasso and model for Man Ray, she herself was an active and prominent member of the Parisian avant-garde. Her body of work includes commercial photography, documentary photography, and photomontages as well as painting in her later career.
