Anna Atkins
""
Anna Atkins was a botanist who became interested in photography to record her specimens. Her book, \”British Algae: Cyanotype Impressions\”, may be the first published books of photography and she is considered one of the first women photographers.
Atkins produced her images through the cyanotype process which produces a cyan (blue) color when light hits the photographic paper. Her work proved that photography could assist science to accurately describe specimens.
