Alexander Young Jackson (1882-1974) was a Canadian Landscape painter and a member of the Group of Seven. Young grew up in Montreal, Canada. He trained at the Montreal Monument National and the Art Institute of Chicago. He was influenced by the Impressionists and traveled to France. There he studied at the Academie Julian with the painter Jean-Paul Laurens. Young was one of the early members of the Group of Seven along with the painter James Edward Hervey Mcdonald. Alexander Young Jackson died in 1974.
