Once again highlighting the struggle of the journey northward, Lawrence depicts an uncharacteristically empty train station in which a man buys train tickets for his waiting family. Both the title of the panel and the small prison-like ticket window suggest the threat of separation that loomed over many migrating families, as well as the isolating nature of moving to an unfamiliar place.
